“You’re strong, do you think you’d be able to drag Isaac out of the factory after we sedate him?” Well, Isaac was a skinny guy and definitely wouldn’t be hard to lift, so of course, I agreed. He called me up to his office a day after we’d returned and I felt a little anxious when he told me to sit down next to his desk. Leo had practically ordered Todd to give Isaac the cure right away, but the doctor wanted to do some tests first. I honestly hoped they’d pack up and leave to join the Anarchists instead they’d be so much better off there.
Maybe that, or they were worried about Leo pointing out to Isaac how awful they’d all been to both of them throughout all of this. The worry seemed to arise from the fear that this cure world work like Todd’s original test cure had-ending in an explosion, the death of our friend… or worse. We had two samples of the cure left to bring to Todd.Įveryone in camp seemed to lighten up at our return and the milestone we’d just met, but there was also caution. All he could talk about was having Isaac back, and surely it was all he thought about too. Maybe they could tell he definitely wasn’t in the right state of mind. Wilbur, who I’d only met a few times but Leo seemed to know decently well, really wanted Leo to stick around and celebrate, but there was not a single word regarding Leo staying for good. We’d stopped by on the way home and Leo gave them a handful of vials of the cure. Maybe they were still waiting, Leo was sure. Leo had been pretty worried that the Anarchists would ask for his guidance in the wake of Jack’s death but there was no word of anything.
